Opa’s has been a Fredericksburg institution since just after it opened in 1947. The establishment still produces its own smoked sausages and smoked meats using authentic German recipes and techniques—some 2.5 million pounds a year—that can be purchased at their Market & Deli on Washington St. or through national retailers like HEB, Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club. Buy meat by the pound or grab one of their succulent sandwiches or salads to go…sorry, no dining in.
