Newtown is about 60 miles northeast of New York Citya 90-minute drive. Newtown is a 10-minute drive east of Danbury and has three exits—9, 10 and 11—on Interstate 84. 

Air: The nearest airports are Westchester County Airport in White Plains, NY—a 45-minute driveand Stewart airport in Newburgh, NY, a 55-minute drive. Both airports have few nonstop flights, so New York City's LaGuardia or JFK airports and Bradley airport near Hartford, CT, are often better choices. It's about a 90-minute drive from LaGuardia or Bradley to Newtown.

Train: Newtown has no train service. The nearest Metro-North station is in neighboring Bethel, CT, but a connection must be made in Stamford, CT. Most Newtown residents returning home from New York City find it faster to take a Metro-North train to Brewster, NY; Southeast, NY, or Fairfield, CT. Each is about a 75-minute train ride from New York City, and about a 30-minute drive to Newtown. Taxi fares from those stations to Newtown are expensive. The nearest Amtrak station is in Bridgeport, CT, about a 25-minute drive to Newtown.   

Taxi: Newtown has no taxi companies. Nearby Danbury has a few taxi companies, including Maffei's Taxi Service, 203-792-0029.
