Trains to Tarrytown leave and return to Manhattan every hour, seven days a week, except between after midnight and before 5 a.m. or so. Go to Metro-North Railroad for information on schedules and fares from Grand Central station. Fares are higher during rush hours. The trip is under 45 minutes, depending on whether you take a local, local express, or express train. The Hudson River views along the way make for a nice journey.
