The National Center for Atmospheric Research is a federally funded research and development center that is open to the public daily with no admission charge. Its location is stunning beneath the Flatirons, Boulder's awesome rock formations. NCAR’s mission is "to understand the behavior of the atmosphere and related physical, biological and social systems" and "foster transfer of knowledge and technology for the betterment of life on Earth."
