The 1,100-acre former estate of Virginia governor Westmoreland Davis, who served from 1918 to 1922, is a community events space with an equestrian center and three museums. The Greek Revival mansion, preserved as it was when the Davises lived there, is open for guided tours. Also on the grounds: the Winmill Carriage Museum with 40 horse-drawn vehicles, and log huts that replicate those occupied by Confederate soldiers during the first winter of the Civil War.
