With its central location in France, wide range of historic sites, outdoor attractions and experiences and reasonable number of hotels and rooms, Beaune has high appeal for destination weddings, reunions and small to mid-sized meetings and events. The Palais de Congres near the old town offers an exhibit hall with over 30,000 square feet and a conference room that holds close to 350. The main drawback from a large group planner’s point of view is the lack of any large hotels, which perhaps is part of the charm. Most event attendees can find lodging in the old town, which is a short, charming stroll from the convention center. A particularly unique location for a small reunion and corporate retreat is the Chateau to Chilly in Vougeot. It has over 40 rooms but, as with many old chateaux, not all rooms have the same level of upkeep and service.
