Day Hikes
The Southern Tier of the Catskills, particularly in this area, consists of lower, less frequented
hills and lakes, with easy access to some pleasing viewpoints. You can purchase an excellent set of Catskill trail maps online from the New York New Jersey Trail Conference.
A short relatively easy walk up a ridge above the Delaware River to Jenson Ledges is less than three miles round-trip and affords scenic views of the river. Click here for a map of this and other short walks in the area.
Cycling
The Hancock Chamber of Commerce features a 30-mile bike route on quiet country roads.
The D&H Rail Trail in eastern Pennsylvania runs for 38 miles on a bed of cinder, hard-packed dirt and some of the original ballast of this historic railroad. One part of the trail is where the first steam locomotive was tested in 1829 on what was then the longest stretch of railroad in the U.S.
Part of the New York State Bicycle Route 17 runs through Hancock, then north to follow the shores of the scenic Cannonsville Reservoir.
